No Game Today. We Can All Relax .

The sun is out.

The TV is dark.

The radio is on BBC.

The corn is getting high.

We can all take a deep breath.

Duque is imbibing by the lakeshore.

No pineapples must be either inserted or ejected this day.

We can bask in a record that shows five games over .500.

Any statistician will say, " the Yankees are still in the hunt."

But tomorrow, we must play.

Someone must pitch.

Someone must relieve.

But only Aaron can hit.

If they score first, the storm begins.

Le deluge.

Enjoy your day today.

Tomorrow may get ugly.

I hate to be optimistic. In fact, I'm NOT optimistic about the NYYs 2017 right now

However, what I remember is about early April was NOT being optimistic....followed by massive incoming non-pineapple loads of DELIGHT. I thought things were gonna be absolutely horribe, with CCS starting every 5th day, and Aaron Judge striking out every other at-bat, and Sanchez injured to start things off.

Didn't go that way. The first 2 months of the season went RIGHT, just about every time.

In my life outside of baseball, things like that normally do not happen. Surprises happen, yes -- but virtually none of them have come with Upsides.

Now, what is happening NYY-wise is serving to remind us: Things REALLY just do NOT go that way. Even in baseball.....

I can take it. I can live with all of that. In point of fact, I HAVE -- and in things a lot more important than baseball.

But do I have to do it NOW with Pineda wrapped around my neck?

. . . which brings me to a question:

Is the fact that PINEapple and PINEda share so much, alphabet-wise, mean something?

If one happens to have grown up in Iowa, that corn looks pretty sick - - probably the seed was soaked with glyphosate, too... LB (No J)

Remember what a terrific defensive catcher Tony Pena was?
Why doesn't he learn Sanchez his experiences?

OK..... LETS TAKE A MINI-BREATHER AGAIN.....

LETS LOOK AT THINGS AS THEY ARE.....

WE ARE 5 GAMES OVER .500 AFTER A DREADFUL 20 STRAIGHT GAMES.

WE ARE 4 GAMES OUT OF FIRST PLACE

I STILL THINK WE ARE LEADERS IN THE ONE GAME WILD CARD PLAY IN.

WE HAVE BASEBALL'S MOST EXCITING PLAYER NOW (WITHOUT TROUT AROUND).

GARY SANCHEZ IS STILL A DANGEROUS HITTER (HE NEEDS TO FIND THE PATIENCE HE HAD AT THE PLATE LAST SEASON). JOE DE PASTRY IS RIGHT....PENA HAS TO WORK WITH HIM A BIT.

LUIS SEVERINO (ONLY 23), HAS STRONG STUFF, AND HAS TAKEN STEPS FORWARD THIS SEASON.

JORDAN MONTGOMERY (ONLY 24), IS HERE TO STAY, AND IS A CRAFTY LEFTY THAT WE NEEDED BADLY IN OUR ROTATION.

LET US NOT FORGET...

CC GOT HURT

CASTRO GOT HURT (A KILLER)

HICKS GOT HURT

HOLLIDAY GOT SICK?

WARREN GOT HURT

CHAPMAN MISSED TIME

DIDI MISSED TIME

SANCHEZ MISSED TIME...

REVERSE JU-JU TIME....

WE ALL KNOW IT CAN'T HAPPEN, BUT WHAT HAPPENS IS THEY ALL COME BACK DURING THE 2ND HALF?

ALONG WITH GREG BIRD?

THERE STILL IS SOMETHING SPECIAL GOING ON.

LETS FUCKING GO.

I come to this blog primarily for guidance into the intricacies of modern day baseball and the hell hole named Yankeeverse. Being a simple Urban Farmer, though blessed with tender hands, I have a need for clarification, insights and above all analysis.
Without wanting to sound grandiloquent I feel like pointing one of my soft fingers at the contributors for failing to do just that.

How can it be that it took so lang before someone saw what the nature and origin of the problem we kindly refer to as Pineda.

Joe Formerlyof Brooklyn I am forever in your debt (you like Heineken on Lido Decks by any chance?) for making me see.
And shame on those who failed to understand this earlier.
