Maybe there just aren't enough ancient ones still around to offer a proper eulogy, but the recent death of Ralph Terry requires from us a bit more attention.

This guy earns a wow!Threw the decisive pitch in two one-run game 7's. That first one, the 10-9 Mazeroski game, is still the only WS game without a strikeout. (Yanks creamed Pittsburgh in their 3 wins and lost by one run in the other 4.)
He shut out SF 1-0 after there were two out and one on in the bottom ninth and three HOFers coming up. (Mays doubled. Alou was held at third. Houk elected to pitch to McCovey rather than Cepeda. Stretch's screaming liner sank instead of rising.)
Rest easy Ralphie Boy...
That second year, 1962, he won 23 games and threw 298 innings.
In the modern era, his number would be retired.

Also, it was right at Richardson, which helped.
Exactly. And came back from giving up the Mazeroski homer. Nice pitcher for us.

It’s hard to watch because of an obese Red Sox fan in the bottom corner. Pretend it’s radio and don’t look at the screen.
Lock out was about greed and ego.
Agrees Yankees could be 3rd or 4th place team.
Yanks will re-sign Judge, but isn’t feeling it for the captain idea.
Insulted by suggestion he might have grown up a Dodgers or Giants fan.
Gets wood for Don Mattingly, and lefties. Like Sonya Sotomayer.
John doesn’t feel sorry for anyone who gets traded.
Baseball needs a pitch clock, has a lot of empty time.
John has an enormous… audience.
Has home run calls for Falafel and Rortvedt, but couldn’t remember Yanks got Donaldson. Hopefullly we’ll all soon forget.
(I’m betting something Corvette for Rortvedt)
Won’t say what Yankees gonna do with DJ, especially if he hits.
Still seems to think Voit isn’t going anywhere.
Baseball player aren’t tough. We can’t all be iron man broadcaster Sterling.
Would Steinbrenner be happy? George would run it very differently. Hal is different from his dad.
Do younger listeners hear John? He swears up and down that kids love baseball, and him.
As a kid, I remember watching the 9th inning against SF and biting my nails. Thank God the ball was hit directly at Richardson and not several feet away. And , thankfully, there were no analytic geniuses forcing him to a spot where he didn't want to play.
Terry said he looked at where Richardson was playing before he threw the pitch, and thought he was too far over towards first. Lucky he was.
