“This is a championship-caliber team,” Steinbrenner said. “I think we’ve addressed one or two needs that we had. This team’s got a lot of experience. It’s a veteran team. They’ve got a lot of heart. And I think we’re gonna see great things.”

He looks like an angry version of Brian Wilson.
Help Me Rhonda!
Damn! Sweet call, borntorun999!
FUCK HIM AND HIS OFFSPRING FOREVER.
HE WILL NEVER SELL THE TEAM.
PRAY FOR A CHILD OF HIS TO GIVE A SHIT ONE DAY LONG AFTER WE ARE DEAD.
It's too late. I'm already dead. This summer I'll be watching the latest version of The Golden Girls, only this time they'll be wearing pintstripes.
I read that quote of Hal's and thought of the line from "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas" - "...LOOK AT WHAT GOD JUST DID TO US..."
That's not anger in his eyes - - - its soulless fear. It's how Dorian Gray would look like if you could shoot a candid of his terrified mug.
Ok, I’m gonna use that argument too
“Obviously in ny, everything costs more, and with gas and other expenses being the way they are, I’m going to have to roll with free streaming and radio broadcasts of game. I expect great things from my summer that won’t include visits to Yankee stadium, but I’ll be sure to put a lot of heart into cheering from the backyard”
Poor guy. How does he manage? Just getting through the day to pay bills. It must be tough.
Maybe he ought to get a part-time job.
...and the 80 million doesn't even cover maintenance on the moat.
And Freddie Freeman to the Dodgers. Yet another reason why it's a shame they left. Their dominance would now be forcing Hal to compete if they were still in Brooklyn.
Love that book, bitty! Also "Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail."
Two Words: Halitosis Steinbrenner
Let's start a Go Fund Me, so Hal can afford to sign one more F/A
Well, if 80 million for the most famous stadium since the Coliseum is a burden, Hal, how about you pay 160 million?
Sounds like Hal doesn't like the sweetheart deal Randy Levine got him, back when Randy was a Deputy Mayor, selling out New Yorkers over the stadium, while he was feathering his bed for future employment.
How about we prosecute Randy for corruption and raise the price of the stadium stadium maintenance to NYC market rates?
Feel free to sell the Yankees at any time, Hal. We'll work with you to make it happen.
I'm with Dantes. Well put.
Guess what, dumbshit, if you hadn't torn down baseball's One True Cathedral, a venue that gave your team a considerable home field advantage, you wouldn't be on the hook for 80MM each month.
Ponder that next time eating too much lobster gives you a tummyache.
Asshole.
A-men, Dr. T. And let's not forget, NYC has now built the Steinbrenner not one but TWO, count 'em 2, major-league stadiums.
PLUS...the minor-league park in Staten Island. Which the team abandoned a couple years ago.
