Dear Mister Cashman...

Mike Tauchman must stay.

This notion that, when Hammerin' Cameron Maybin returns, Tauchman should go to Scranton, simply because he has options...?

No.

Put Gardy on the 10-day DL. (He's already missed two, so it's just barely a week.)

Tauchman. Must. Stay.

AGREED MR. DUQUE (WELCOME BACK BTW)....

TAUCHMAN HAS WON US OVER, AND NOW HE IS HITTING AND CONTRIBUTING ON THE ROAD TOO.

HE HUSTLES AND HAS FIRE.

I WANT TO GIVE COOP CREDIT, BUT AS WE AWAIT HIS ULTIMATE MOVE TO PUT US OVER THE TOP, I DREAD HIS UPCOMING DEAL FOR A PITCHER WHO WILL DISAPPOINT.

THRILLING GAME LAST NIGHT.

10000000000% agree, he's really grown on me, his energy and hustle is a big part of what makes this team fun to watch.
And I second the welcome back my friend!

Sorry about the repost but I wanted it in a current thread...

Here is an out of the box thought...

If we're going to trade for a starter what precludes us from trading a a current starter as part of the package? Why does it have to come entirely from the minors?

For example, let's say that the front office is convinced that Paxton is on the road to Sonny Greytown. Does he not become a key piece in a trade? Makes it easier for the other team to give up their number one knowing they get a serviceable starter (with potential to be great) plus a Fraizer and/or a Thario to build for the future?

Same could be said for Happ (without the "potential to be great" but definitely serviceable.)

Doing it that way removes a potential log jam of starters and lets a team on the Wild Card bubble stay in contention. So it's a move for the present and the future for them and is easier to sell to their fan base.

Just sayin'

I had the same thought. Addition by subtraction

Happ and Big Maple for somebody serious. Bring up some kids. Rail all you want against me, I think it's a good idea, Doug. Do we want "innings eaters" or shit eaters?

Urshela, Tauchman, Hicks, Didi, Maybin all great moves by Ca$hman.

Not one pitcher has been a great move by Ca$hman.

Agreed, Doug K.—and Duque.

Incidentally, Duque, Ray Nietzche was my favorite philosopher/middle linebacker, ever. Though let me tell you, Reinhold Niebuhr could play somme strong safety, back in the day.

I really wasn't sold on Tuchus; he's old and wasn't a productive major leaguer. Well, that was before this season. He's been good for 1.7 WAR and a 121 OPS+. He can field his positions. He has an above average arm. And he can run. So yeah. I'm sold.

What Ranger said about Ca$hmoney and finding pitchers.

It started with trading Wells for that a$$hole Clemens. I know Clemens won some games for the Yankees, and gave Suzyn an on-air orgasm worthy of Donna Summer, but I never wanted him on the Yankees. And Wells, well perfect game 'still drunk', in addition to being Cone's wingman. And he pitched with Babe's Yankee cap.

And what Duque said about Mr. Tauchman, even though I fear it will not happen that way.

And damn, the Twin's center field Knight's Watch wall is insane, home runs are doubles and they still scored enough. My heart (and liver) can't take another night like last night,,,,,,,

Though, The Master was ultra energized, wonderful to hear him sooooOOoooo excited!

Rufus, I loved Wells, too, until he asked out of Game 5 of the 2003 World Series after 1 inning, then walked off the team as a free agent because Cashman dared to suggest he try to get in a little more shape.

Hoss,

Agreed. Kinda like not liking fat Elvis. That was the beginning of a long dark period.

Still hate Katy Klemens.

@Rufus...I'll give you that but in NY, it's what have you done lately. Since Wells and Clements, what pitcher has Ca$hman (and I'll give you Chapman) acquired who has worked out for the Yanks like these position players?

Ranger,

Wells (the good one) wasn't even a Ca$hmoney acquisition, it was stick. Clemens, I'd argue was not even a good get. El Chapo ain't worth the $$$$ they're paying him.

All in all, Ca$hmoney is good for picking up trash heap hitters (sometimes), but sucks at pitchers.
