The Yankees are worse at hitting with RISP than Trump's legal team is at finding election fraud

Sano's hitting .161. Brain should trade for him.

I know the conventional wisdom is that if you play for one run, that's what you'll get, one run. It's no way to run an ordinary offense, especially this early in the game. But this team cannot score at all. Would it have killed Judge to hit behind the runner?

1.45am here 8n Scotland
My alarm for work goes off at 6.30
8ve seen enough of this team of bums lead by an edjit to realize I should just go to sleep rather than stay up and get angry

There may ba a miracle and I could wake up to a good result but I doubt it

G'night.

Brigadoon Refsnyder sighting!

Platoni said...

This is a sad, sad team. I've been sorry for the losses and the failures and the injuries, but now I'm sorry for them only

Winnie replace Sano’s name with Joey Gallo. Same thing…

I'm home in eastern time. Just watched a Hawaii 5-0 rerun and ready for bed.

Was there a game on tonight?

Does it matter?

Who is Chauncey Gardener?

BernBabyBern said...

Gerrit Cole was asked a yes-or-no question: Have you ever used Spider Tack while pitching?" His answer lasted longer than "The Irishman" and meandered more than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. Sooooo, yeah, he uses it.

Chauncey Gardner: “I like to watch.”

DickAllen1964 said...

EVERYBODY IS USING IT!!!!

MLB Just discovered this? You mean, like the time they “just” discovered PED use? And the time they “just” discovered the Asstros were cheating their way to a title?

Wow. Next thing you know we’ll be suggesting umpires are blind and tainted.

TheWinWarblist said...

That's it. Don't swing. Go with what got you here.

JM said...

Judge uses good judgement.

Sorry, had to.

JM said...

I can't spell after this much rye.

JM said...

I'll take it. WP.

BernBabyBern said...

Once again, the Yankees are most productive when they DON'T SWING THE BAT. Walks and wild pitches, baby.

Pocono Steve said...

Maybe in this inning we can exhaust every possible manner of scoring a run without--God forbid--actually getting a big hit. Maybe the best we could hope for.

TheWinWarblist said...

I'm rooting for a balk.

TheWinWarblist said...

No run scoring balk. Too bad.

JM said...

Stanton swings at a ball. Who'd a thunk?

Anonymous said...

It is amazing how many times we core on a walk and a wild pitch.

score

TheWinWarblist said...

It would be wonderful to score on walks and WP and balks if and only if the Yanks were ALSO SCORING ON HITS, THE MISERABLE FLACCID FUCKERS.

JM said...

If they keep this up, Sanchez and Odor will be hitting over .200.

Fuck it if Sanchez already is.

TheWinWarblist said...

NOW WE HAVE A CHANCE FOR A RUN-SCORING BALK!!
NOW WE HAVE A CHANCE FOR A RUN-SCORING BALK!!
NOW WE HAVE A CHANCE FOR A RUN-SCORING BALK!!
NOW WE HAVE A CHANCE FOR A RUN-SCORING BALK!!

ranger_lp said...

Sanchez actually scored...will wonders never cease....

JM said...

These guys are worse than we are.

TheWinWarblist said...

A sac fly. How olde timey.

Pocono Steve said...

How many more innings before Sanchez is removed for hamstring or calf "soreness" after that grueling 90-foot mad dash?

TheWinWarblist said...

Montgomery is still out there? Oh. Not anymore. Even Ma Boone knows to take him out now.

BernBabyBern said...

Uh, no, Boonie apparently didnt know that. Aaaaaand Brigadoon makes him pay.

Every decision Boone makes lately seems to be the wrong one.

TheWinWarblist said...

Fuck no. Boone left him out there. For a WP. And a run scoring double. I hate these people so very much. You all know how angry I can become. I've transcended my normal state. It's like I've pushed through some barrier into another dimension ten thousand fold more angry.

JM said...

Does he make any good ones?

Platoni said...

You're right, Bern. He's walking back and I'm thinking, "why did you even go there, you gatdemn maroon"?

TheWinWarblist said...

H.P. Lovecraft should chronicle this season. But he'd probably be too frightened.

TheWinWarblist said...

A baserunner going first to third after the hitter singles behind the runner? Quite nostalgic that makes me.

Pocono Steve said...

Now's the time for the balked-in run.

TheWinWarblist said...

The Yankee conditioning regimen is so bad that now opposing players are getting injured by it. Brigadoon is out with a tweaked gonad.

BernBabyBern said...

Ever since "I should swing at this Tim Wakefield knuckleball," Boone's good-decision percentage has been pretty low.

TheWinWarblist said...

A pinch hit base hit in the late innings? To the opposite field? I shall surely swoon.

And another hit! A palpable hit! Also to the opposite field?

BernBabyBern said...

Add "throwing error" to the ways the Yankees have scored tonight.

Anonymous said...

It's amazing--the Yankees manage to find a backup TV announcer who is more annoying and unlistenable than Michael Kay.

Anonymous said...

The Cashman-Boone Guidebook for destroying the confidence of talented young players: When one of them (in this case Frazier) is your player of the week, bench him right after that accolade is announced. Then, after he gets a key pinch-hit late in the game, bench him again in favor of a pinch-runner even though he himself is not a slow runner. They've been pulling this shit on Frazier since forever--jerking him in and out of the starting lineup, unwarranted late-inning defensive replacements, etc., etc. This is NOT how a serious front office treats talented young players.

TheWinWarblist said...

4 errors seem like an awful lot for a major league team. And the Yanks have still only scored 5 runs.

Pathetic.

TheWinWarblist said...

That's the Big Hamburger. That's the Big Hamburger.

Pathetic.

Platoni said...

The Yankees have scored 5 runs on:

A walk
A wild pitch
A sac fly
A fielder's choice
An error

They are 2-15 with RISP. None of those two hits produced a run.

We need to check the record books on this shit. Because now that the bars are open again, I'm gonna win me some free beers on bar bets

Did anyone notice the side shot that showed Boone asking his bench coach how many outs there are? With big bright scoreboards everywhere? This is not a good sign--amony many not-good signs.

BernBabyBern said...

Boonie after the game.

"You know. I told these guys, just keep plugging away, and eventually, we'll run into a team that'll make 4 errors, walk in runs, throw wild pitches with runners on third and cut off throws to the plate for no apparent reason. And we did. If we can keep playing teams that do that we'll be OK."

TheWinWarblist said...

You go DU.

Pocono Steve said...

Can Magic Wandy hold a five-run lead?

ranger_lp said...

I guess the secret to winning is to dress the opposing team in Twins uniforms...

JM said...

Miggy and Sanchez. Wow.

So is that a picture of a former president with his pants on backwards?

P.S. No matter ho much I drink, I cannot tell the difference betweenJohnny Walker Red or Black.

I can't afford Johnny Walker Blue.

But if I ever had a bottle, I know I would have to drink it neat.
