Congratulations to Jacoby Ellsbury for winning 2015 Yankee Speed Demon Stolen Base Crown... with 21!

The man is truly a thief.

UNREAL....ELLS, AND GARDY...SPEED! SPEED! SPEED! ...WTF HAPPENED TO THESE 2 GUYS??? FOR 2 YEARS NOW, THE 2 OF THEM JUST CAN'T GET IT GOING...THEY DID LAST YEAR FOR A COUPLE WEEKS REAL EARLY, AND I REMEMBER SAYING TO MYSELF, "OK! HERE WE GO!..THIS WAS WHY WE GOT THESE 2 GUYS! THIS IS WHAT WE PLANNED! FINALLY!!!" ....AND POOF!, BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, THE EXCITEMENT WAS GONE...THE SCARY, SORRY PART OF IT IS, NOBODY KNOWS WHY....GIRARDI DOESN'T KNOW WHY? THEY JUST ASKED HIM IN AN INTERVIEW A FEW DAYS AGO, AND HE SAID, "I WISH I KNEW" ..I SAID TO MYSELF. "SHOULDN'T HE KNOW? , HE SHOULD KNOW WHY." GARDY HASN'T OFFERED ANY EXPLANATIONS. ELLSBURY, I GUESS, CAN SAY HE GOT HURT, BUT WHEN HE CAME BACK AFTER INJURY, HE REALLY WASN'T RUNNING...WELL, LET ME CORRECT THAT, HE WASN'T REALLY DOING ANYTHING...NO HITTING, NO RUNNING, NO ANYTHING...LIKE I HAVE SAID BEFORE, I REALLY LIKE GARDY, AND AT TIMES HE IS A REAL GOOD PLAYER, BUT THE ABILITY FOR HIM TO STEAL BASES WAS THE "EDGE" THAT MADE HIM STAND OUT OVER SOME OTHER OUTFIELDERS. MY MIND KEEPS WRAPPING AROUND THOSE 49 STEALS HE HAD YEARS AGO...BUT THAT WAS A LONG TIME AGO, AND FOR WHATEVER THE REASON, (I SUSPECT, IT'S A MENTAL THING), HE NO LONGER HAS THAT "EDGE". WITHOUT IT, WE ARE LEFT WITH A GOOD OUTFIELDER, WITH A LITTLE BELOW AVERAGE POWER, A LITTLE BELOW AVERAGE ARM, HITS .260-.265, AND DOESN'T STEAL ANYMORE........MAYBE RICO NOEL CAN BE A "STOLEN BASE COACH" FOR US?.....SHIT, THAT GAME NOEL GOT PICKED OFF, I ALMOST FELL OFF MY COUCH!

Gardner's lifetime avg is .264.
We got excited with his early start but unfortunately he returned to his normal batting
stats as the season progressed. He may be trade bait soon.
Ellsbury was definitely not performing after being on DL. We are stuck again with a long term contract but hopefully,
he will be back next year to what he has been in the past. One of the best base stealers in baseball.

I HOPE SO JD......IT WAS SO PUZZLING LAST SEASON. WHEN HE CAME BACK FROM THE INJURED KNEE, HE LOOKED FINE...BUT THE RESULTS DIDN'T INDICATE THAT HE WAS FINE....I GUESS HE JUST COULDN'T GET OUT OF HIS SLUMP....PUZZLING.

Jacoby's biggest steal was the money the Yankees are paying him for 7 forking years.
