Binghamton and Buffalo are no slouches. No shame in losing to them. No glory, either.

Worcester MA, the town with the dumbest spelling in the Northeast compared to its pronunciation (Greenwich, you ain't so far back), doesn't deserve to be so high up on the list. On any list. Red Sox fans, all of them.

May they have cold, dry winters that allow spores to invade their sinuses.

The Massholes in Red Sox nation take a great deal of parochial, insular pride in having town names that only the locals can pronounce. It helps the Massholes feel superior to people who aren't local. ("You're not from heah, ah ya?") Besides Worcester ("Woostah"), other examples include:

     Leominster (pronouned "lemminster" or "lemminstah" by the Masshole locals)
     Peabody ("peebiddy")
     Billerica ("billricka")
     Gloucester ("glosstah")

There are also a number of towns that end with "ham". Because everything up there needs to be annoying, sometimes the "ham" is pronounced "um" (Needham, Dedham, Hingham, etc.), other times the "ham" is pronounced like the pork product (Wareham, Framingham, Wilbraham, and others). In the case of Stoneham (skater Nancy Kerrigan's hometown), regular old Massholes pronounce it "Stone-um" whereas the Massholes who actually live in Stoneham pronounce it "Stone-HAM". Massholes will attempt to tell you this makes sense because "it's how you tell whether the person is from Stoneham or not."

They all suck.
