Crapola.....!

So Jordan Montgomery gets three outs on seven pitches in today's first inning against Houston.

A comeback win starts to look good, even though Verlander is pitching for them.

The whole conversation about Verlander is a debate about whether he already has the qualifications for Cooperstown.

The whole conversation about Montgomery is that Domingo German is warming up in the bullpen.

Prepare for some really bad news.

Neil Walker brought the Mets injury plague to the Yankees. I bet if you kept a camera on him all game you could catch him poisoning the water coolers.

you should not have said that.

Anyone who says we should trade Sanchez is an asshole

But gardy on the other hand. As soon as Frazier's noggins good and his batting average/hr rate is equal to or greater than the number of games ellsburys played(immediately)... bring him back up.

Great win!

Yeah, Jordan is sad, and so is Gardy.

But sadder still is Scranton. 132 plate appearances, 46 strikeouts? This is rapidly getting absurd.

Old George would have ordered him in for an eye checkup.

So, I think this is the moment we see what we've got. If Montgomery has to miss at least one start, which seems inevitable, I say we bring in Adams or Sheffield. Why not take a look?

Instead, I suspect we'll get the Bad Cole.

UNBELIEVABLE UPS AND DOWN TONIGHT....

DOWNS: MONTGOMERY GOING DOWN.. (ELBOW'S ARE NEVER GOOD-THINK TOMMY JOHN HERE)... SHIT.

DOWNS: STANTON... WE DESPERATELY NEEDED CONTACT IN THE 9TH INNING WITH 2ND AND 3RD AND 0 OUTS.... I DON'T EVEN THINK HE TOUCHED THE BALL THE ENTIRE AT BAT. HE LOOKS OVER-MATCHED BY FASTBALLS AND SLIDERS.

DOWNS: OUR INABILITY TO HIT HOUSTON'S STARTING PITCHERS...IN ALL HONESTY, THEY LOOK SUPER HUMAN.....MORTON WENT FROM 92 MPH IN THE N.L. TO 99 MPH NOW....PITTSBURGH WOULD HAVE NEVER LET THAT KIND OF STUFF GO.....VERLANDER LOOKS MACHINE LIKE.....GERRIT COLE HAS BEGUN HIS A.L. CAREER STRIKING EVERYONE OUT, WHEN LAST YEAR I PRAYED FOR HIM TO BEAT THE METS JUST ONCE OUT OF 2 STARTS AGAINST THEM WITHIN 10 DAYS, AND HE BOMBED OUT BOTH TIMES.....COMMON SENSE GENTLEMEN.... SOMETHING IS GOING ON AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PINE TAR..... IT IS CALLED HGH. (IT'S WHAT BIG FAT PHONY PAPI WAS TAKING FOR MOST OF HIS YEARS IN BOSTON)....THEY DON'T TEST FOR IT. TO DETECT IT, THEY NEED TO TAKE BLOOD FROM THE PLAYERS.... THE UNION WILL NEVER AGREE TO IT.

DOWNS: GARDY LOOKS LOST AT THE PLATE...SAD....

UPS: DOMINGO GERMAN....HE HAS GREAT STUFF (A 95-96 FASTBALL, SHARP SLIDER, AND A GOOD CHANGE UP)...HE'S RAW, BUT HE REALLY HAS THE STUFF...HOPEFULLY, HE WILL DEVELOP HIS HEAD TOO.

UPS: GARY SANCHEZ... HE IS FINALLY ANSWERING THIS BLOGS CALLS FOR SOME "CLUTCH" HITS.

UPS: WE NEEDED TO SHOW HOUSTON WE COULD WIN IN THEIR PARK....WE DID, AND WE DID IT WITH 8 FULL INNINGS FROM OUR BULLPEN....THAT'S IMPRESSIVE!

BOTTOM LINE: GREAT WIN TONIGHT, WITH SEVY TOMORROW.

I hear you, ALL-CAPS.

And first, yes, I suspect they ARE all pine-tarring the ball. Which is illegal, and has been illegal since 1920. I love how MLB, when it is not sure how to restore the balance between pitching and hitting, just decides to let various rules go unenforced.

But second, yes, I am sure you are right: pitchers ARE still juicing. In fact, I suspect that a LOT of guys, pitchers AND hitters are still juicing.

That was always the thing with PEDs, as I understand it. A lot of these substances have never actually been produced before, so there is no way to test for them right away.

Years from now, some committee will determine that what that jerk Canseco said—80 percent are juicing—was right all along.

Okay, so maybe it's down from that now, after all the tests. But I would bet it's still 30-50 percent.

It's a terrible example to set for the kids. Aside from that, though, it also seriously distorts who to sign, and for how much, because some guys—I'm looking at you, brother of our manager!—are obviously doing it for a year or two, until they get the last big contract.

I suspect that Pujols falls into this category. Maybe our own Teixeira, too.

And...Scranton?

If so, it amounts to fraud against not only the Yankees, but all of us putting our hard-earned shekels behind the team.

YES YES YES HOSS....

I GET A BIG KICK OUT OF GUYS (LIKE PAPI) WHO KEEP SAYING THEY HAVE BEEN "TESTED" MORE THAN ANYBODY.

IF THEY DON'T DRAW BLOOD FROM THE PLAYER, THEY CAN'T FIND OUT IF THEY ARE DOING HGH (HUMAN GROWTH HORMONES)- NOT TO MENTION MOST OF THESE FRAUD'S KNOW HOW "MASK" ANY SHOT
OF GETTING CAUGHT, NO MATTER WHAT THE TEST.....THE FEW GUYS WHO DO GET CAUGHT, JUST DON'T ASK ENOUGH QUESTIONS TO THEIR FELLOW "FRAUDS".

DRIVES ME NUTS.

ALL I WANT IS A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD FOR ALL THE PLAYERS.

NO DRUGS....

EVERYONE BLOOD TESTED AND SCREENED 3 TIMES PER SEASON (ONCE AT THE END OF SPRING TRAINING...ONCE AT THE ALL STAR BREAK....AND ONCE ON THE LAST DAY OF THE REGULAR SEASON.....(THEY ALL TAKE PHYSICAL'S AND ARE DOCTOR MONITORED ALL SEASON ANYWAY, RIGHT)?

EVERYONE CLEAN...

TRYING TO CHEAT WITH PINE TAR, SPIT, VASELINE, BELT BUCKLES, AND CORKED BATS, (THE OLD FASHIONED WAY), I CAN LIVE WITH.

I KNOW IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN, BUT THAT'S MY VISION HOW TO COMPLETELY CLEAN THE GAME UP.

ALL CAPS: testing on a regular schedule is an invitation to cheat. testing must be random to have any chance of being an effective deterrent.

OK, I HEAR YA KD....

BUT IF THEY ARE TAKING BLOOD, IT IS A WHOLE NEW BALLGAME, AND CHEATING MOST LIKELY WON'T BE EFFECTIVE.

MAKE IT RANDOM, NO SET DAYS, BUT IT STILL NEEDS TO BE AT LEAST 3 TIMES PER SEASON...

THE TIMES DURING THE SEASON I HAVE OUTLINED ARE VERY IMPORTANT, (ESPECIALLY THE TESTING AT THE NEAR END OF THE REGULAR SEASON).... YOU WANT TO PREVENT A GUY FROM PULLING A "KENNY RODGERS" LIKE HE DID TO US IN THE PLAYOFFS IN 2012 (I BELIEVE IT WAS 2012)....

HE KNEW HE WAS RETIRING AT THE END OF THE SEASON, AND HE WASN'T A HALL OF FAMER, SO HE HAD NOTHING TO LOSE.....RODGERS WENT FROM 86-87 MPH FROM HIS PREVIOUS 2 YEARS TO A SHOCKING 92-93 MPH FACING US IN THE PLAYOFFS.... HE STYMIED US.

IT IS MY CONTENTION HE BEGAN A "CYCLE" OF PED'S RIGHT AROUND A COUPLE WEEKS BEFORE THE END OF THE REGULAR SEASON, THEN RODE THE WAVE, RIGHT THROUGH THE ENTIRE PLAYOFFS.
I WAS STUNNED....THAT IS UNTIL I FIGURED IT OUT....

YOU CAN'T MAGICALLY GO FROM 86-87 MPH TO 92-93 MPH (LIKE A RETIRING KENNY RODGERS DID),
AND YOU CAN'T GO FROM 92 MPH TO 99 MPH LIKE CHARLIE MORTON HAS DONE.
SPIN RATE?
MORE LIKE SPIN "CYCLE".
