Despite earlier panic -- and panic-stoking headlines -- the standings so early in a season do not matter. Those of us who are long in the tooth know that. Some of us actually remember 1978!

HOWEVER: I did find David Price's pitching line last night encouraging -- 6 hits, 2 walks, 9 runs, 7 earned runs, in 3 2/3 innings. ERA now up to 5.11

Like every team, the Sox have to have (at least) 5 starters. We are gaming it with Domingo (and good luck to us).

They have to figure out whether (or not) the Price is right . . . or can be made right -- or, if he goes to the bullpen, who they're gonna send in (every 5th day) . . .

ALONG THE SAME LINES: Didja see that Justus has been promoted to AAA this week? Judge and Justus on the same team. The mind reels.
