The important thing, as Dick Allen and Anonymous Bosch mentioned on the previous post: WE had fun. We the fans, for whom the game is played. We had fun together.
Those of you who think that Cashman or Boone are going anywhere are delusional. Sweetly, awesomely delusional. They'll be back next year.
More importantly, so will The Master and Suzyn, I hope. And most importantly, so will all of us.
Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best And Always look on the bright side of life Always look on the light side of life If life seems jolly rotten There's something you've forgotten And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing When you're feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing And Always look on the bright side of life (Come on) Always look on the right side of life For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow Forget about your sin Give the audience a grin Enjoy it, it's your last chance anyhow So always look on the bright side of death A just before you draw your terminal breath Life's a piece of shit When you look at it Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true You'll see it's all a show Keep 'em laughin' as you go Just remember that the last laugh is on you And Always look on the bright side of life Always look on the right side of life (C'mon Brian, cheer up) Always look on the bright side of life Always look on the bright side of life Always look on the bright side of life I mean, what have you got to lose? You know, you come from nothing You're going back to nothing What have you lost? Nothing Always look on the right side of life Nothing will come from nothing, ya know what they say Cheer up ya old bugga c'mon give us a grin (Always look on the right side of life) There ya are, see It's the end of the film Incidentally this record's available in the foyer (Always look on the right side of life) Some of us got to live as well, you know (Always look on the right side of life) Who do you think pays for all this rubbish (Always look on the right side of life) They're not gonna make their money back, you know I told them, I said to him, Bernie, I said they'll never make their money back (Always look on the right side of life)
Boone will get a new contract as a newsie for the Post wrote yesterday.
Cashman will GM until he dies.
Hal will watch soccer and mew like a four day old kitten
And we, much like retired yet unbowed Confederate soldiers, will gather around various gin mills and cracker barrels , and speak of what once was and what might have been punctuated by series of "what if"s.
And as a final colonoscopy, the CBA expires and there is no baseball in 2022. I am just tired
So that ends it for this year and the roller coaster finally rolls into the station. What more can be said? Will Boone and Cash be back? I believe they will. I would hope that they both look hard at our hitting coaches and wonder if the swing and miss/home run approach is sustainable in todays game. How difficult is is to go the other way and avoid the teeth of an overshift? Even Gallo did it (once). Is it a sin for a batter in the 3-4-5 hole to hit a single? The game evolves and the smart teams (ie: Rays) change with it - or even become the change agents!
Lots of decisions to be made. Could be an interesting off season.
I, for one, enjoyed your optimism all season. Your positive take on things always gave me a feeling of hope (even if the feeling was short-lived). Thank you for that. I look forward reading your comments again next season!

Fuck Boston. Fire Boone.
Winter comes early. Again.
Boone: the same droning neutral affect after a win or a season ending loss.

Not sure following this team is “fun.” What happens here is Gallo’s humor.
Amen, Hoss, amen
Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the light side of life
If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle, that's the thing
And
Always look on the bright side of life
(Come on)
Always look on the right side of life
For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow
Forget about your sin
Give the audience a grin
Enjoy it, it's your last chance anyhow
So always look on the bright side of death
A just before you draw your terminal breath
Life's a piece of shit
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughin' as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you
And
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the right side of life
(C'mon Brian, cheer up)
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
Always look on the bright side of life
I mean, what have you got to lose?
You know, you come from nothing
You're going back to nothing
What have you lost? Nothing
Always look on the right side of life
Nothing will come from nothing, ya know what they say
Cheer up ya old bugga c'mon give us a grin (Always look on the right side of life)
There ya are, see
It's the end of the film
Incidentally this record's available in the foyer (Always look on the right side of life)
Some of us got to live as well, you know
(Always look on the right side of life)
Who do you think pays for all this rubbish
(Always look on the right side of life)
They're not gonna make their money back, you know
I told them, I said to him, Bernie, I said they'll never make their money back
(Always look on the right side of life)
I like Chinese for the encore (lighter up)!
ready to please
Well, hopefully the scumbag Doyers lose tomorrow. Good grief I hate them more than Boston
This will be our winter of discontent,
Boone will get a new contract as a newsie for the Post wrote yesterday.
Cashman will GM until he dies.
Hal will watch soccer and mew like a four day old kitten

I am just tired

My Yankee heart keeps beating…..
HAL,
Please sell the team.
Cole and the Arson Squad. And the putrid lineup. The last three nails in the 2021 Yankee coffin.
The Hammer of God
Today is my birthday. It's going to be hard to celebrate.
JM,
As a drunk man once said: "You can't drink all day if you don't start early."
Happy Birthday.
THESE WERE OUR 2021 SUCKEES.
Happy birthday, JM!

Happy Birthday JM.
