Happy 84th Birthday, John Sterling!

If, like Mitt Romney, you believe America is pretty much over with, you can still celebrate today! Because the 4th of July will be an occasion to kick up our heels for as long as our birthday boy breathes!

This article implies that John Sterling was the first call in talk show host where the caller could be heard on the air:

If he was at WCBM in 1964, that picture of him on an elephant looking 12 was when he was 24.

We watched Pride Of The Yankees last night on some such channel or other. Gary Cooper at 41 playing Columbia freshman Lou Gehrig; Babe Ruth as himself, wisecracking baseball superman at a youthful 47, six years before he died. Famed recording artist Walter Brennan before the trademark limp. A truly terrible movie. FCS Jimmy Stewart was 38 when he played George Bailey. Nothing against Jimmy Stewart but did they not have young actors back then?

I'm old enough to have watched Mazeroski's homerun so my shift's about up. But my daughter is 16, with all the hopes and dreams that come with being that age, and as I watch the country slide into hell I fear for her future. Romney might be an asshole but he's not wrong.

BUT!...hell fuck! Happy 84th Mr. Sterling!

Mildred, you are correct, I looked up asshole in my Thesaurus so I would not have to use such a crude term and "Mitt Romney" was one of the synonyms.

I wonder if Mitt still bungee cords his dog to the roof of his car while traveling with his pet.
