Tyler Wade is back

The Yankees liberated him from Anaheim for somebody to be named. (Aaron Judge? Gerrit Cole? Probably not: He'd already been waived.)

He'll report to Scranton, missing Greg Bird by one day. Still has the speed. Shall they race him against Tim Locastro?

It's the opening tremor... the ground is soon to move.

Hats off to the IIHIIFIIc Photoshop Department for this artistic depiction of how Wade might look in a Yankee uniform. Well done, people.

Bringing back Wade for a player to be named later? My guess would be either Andujar or Florial. Brain Cashman's stupid logic.

Now that's a photoshop department I'd be happy to join :)

I saw part of a Scranton game on the carmines' network when they were playing their AAA team. Bird looked awful. A sad story. Sadder than Nick Johnson.

I too, commend the photoshop department. Could they draw one up of Joey Callo bunting into the shift? i.e., actually making contact?

I believe he was DFA and not waived. If waived, another team could just claim him for nothing. When you are DFA, the team has 10 days to make a trade or you get released. The leverage is always with the acquiring team unless it's a surprise move of a player still contributing. That very rarely happens. Obviously, the Yankees wanted him back and thought another team might also decide to grab him. I doubt they are giving up a player very high on their organizational chart.

While not making much bat contact, Gallows surely makes a lot of eye contact.

Eh. I dunno. To me, the photoshopping is mediocre. The helmet looks much too big. He looks like an alien! And look how young he looks! Is he a child?

I would have trouble believing this guy—what'd you say his name was again?—could ever play for the Yankees.

Also, I'm depressed to hear that we gave up anything for him. Hoping somehow it will turn out to be Joey G.

@ Horace....Yes, The Angels do need another OF since Trout might have longer term back problems. Unfortunately., almost all PTBNL are done after the season ends. By then, Gallows will be a free agent.

This poor guy thought he was free and now he’s been consigned back to the pergatory known as Scranton.

The Twitch© would thrive in Anaheim - if no other reason than Disneyland is 3.8 miles away and he's so darn Goofy . . .

Joey Gallo, last calendar month
.105/.282/.263 (.545 OPS)

Yet he's still in the lineup. And not even batting 9th.

I don't get it.

The likelihood is the PTBNL will be someone the team needs to clear from their 40 man roster.
They will have several players they will need to add to it to avoid the Rule 5 draft.
It won’t be anyone earthshaking. Devi Garcia, perhaps.

BTR999 said...

Zach, it’s all about his salary - and cashman’s ego.

From the Team PR Dept

Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves:
•Reinstated RHP Jonathan Loáisiga (#43) from the 15-day IL
•Placed RHP Luis Severino on the 15-day IL with a low grade right lat strain
•Selected RHP Ryan Weber (#85) to the 26-man roster from Triple-A SWB

Severino suffered a lat strain once before and missed about 4 months.

There's the opening for German, if Sevvy is gone. If Cashman isn't trading him.

JM said...

Nestor tonight. Wonder how hard they hit him.

JM said...

So DJ is hitting.319 in his last 21 games. Not bad.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Damn, poor Sevvy! Man, that's terrible. I was really hoping he was past the curse this time.

HoraceClarke66 said...

DJ being back would be a huge lift.

JM said...

Nestor figuring it out would be nice, too.

Reds take advantage of Carp’s infield arm in RF
Note to Boone: that’s why you put your best throwing arm in RF.

Meanwhile, our offense is futile as always against a good pitcher.
What do you think will happen in Oct against superior pitching?
That’s why it’s meaningless to worry about the postseason.

We don’t stand a chance.

I want the Ca$hman suite without paying for it.

ump sucks again.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Why would Trevino ever bat behind Joey Callo?

Platoni said...

Why would Joey Callo ever bat?

JM said...

Why Joey Fallow?

Doug K. said...

Someone should bid on the Brain Cashman's private suite ten ticket package and then invite the IIHIIF gang. Maybe Brian comes by...

Hilarity ensues.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Doug,

Any idea what sort of simoleons that would take? I'd be in just for the ability to be a huckleberry in the palace.

I'd be in for a grand if we could insult the intern, but it doesn't look like it's in our price point.

What happened? How'd Cincinnati get three more runs?

Rufus T. Firefly said...

JM,

Lasagna didn't do so well.

JM said...

I take it Lasagna is not ready for prime time.

Gleyber Day!!! Tie game!!

Rufus T. Firefly said...

It's Gleyber day!

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Amazing. It actually looked like the Gleyber missed hitting that one square.

Rufus T. Firefly said...

Callo:

4 outfielders. No attempt at a bunt.

At least he walked...

JM said...

Good eye, Joey.

JM said...

Just the one good one.

Doug K. said...

Rufus,

It was up to 27k last time i looked

Rufus T. Firefly said...

I've reached my google limit tonight apparently. Night all.

Kevin said...

Yeah, the Yankees could probably use Castillo.......

JM said...

Abreu has a great sinker. Jesus.

JM said...

Yeah, Rufus, it's always that one extra google you probably shouldn't have had.

JM said...

Lugnut coughs up a run. Of course. And Carpenter's inexperience in the outfield bitrs us.

JM said...

Well, that about does it. Lugnut doesn't have it.

Carl J. Weitz said...

You mean he hocked up a Leutge.

HoraceClarke66 said...

Worse yet, we ended up scoring two more runs. Aggravating.
