As Jacoby Ellsbury - (or maybe Brett Gardner) - steps up to the plate, stepping up to the microphone is the voice of the New York Yankees, John Sterling.

manx can you help with this?So we go to the bottom of the third inning last night. NYY had just put up a four-spot. Sterling goes, "Yanks lead 3-0." So I say to myself, no, they scored four runs. John then says, "It's not 4-0 until the Mets put up a zero in the bottom of the third." By now I'm asking, WTF is he talking about? First of all they scored four runs and the Mets have none at this point, so it's 4-0, regardless if the Mets have not completed their third sets of at bats. And I don't understand where the 3-0 came from; the official scorer holds back a run until the Mets finish their half of the inning?
Sometimes John's routine becomes Free Jazz; you can't think about it, you just have to go with it.
