The Great Race Swings (and Misses) into May!

All right, cats and kibbibles, with the first month of the regular season gone, your New York Yankees are smokin', and so is the Great Strikeout Race!

Here are the standings thus far:

Gallo:          29

Stanton:       27

Donaldson:  23

Judge:          22

Over a full, 162-game season, this projects to:

Gallo:          224

Stanton:      208

Donaldson: 177

Judge:         170

Yes, as of today, Joey Gallo is on a pace to break the single-season record for strikeouts, which is 223!

But as we all know, trouble looms. Joey, Joey, King of the Whiffs is out for the moment with groin "tightness." (As opposed to his usual throat tightness.)

Will this mean a couple days off—or a month? If someone—Miguel "El Matador" Andujar, Estevan "High Ceiling" Florial—should step in and hit like we've always prayed, will Joey be back at all???

Elsewhere, both Donaldson and Stanton have shown signs of alarming competence of late, so who knows if they can stay on the pace?  But the Big Three—Stanton, Judge, and Gallo—are, combined, still ahead of the over-under of 600 K's on the year.

The excitement is nearly overwhelming!!!

All rise! Into the fountains! Or nearly.

Higgy looking like Sanchez out there.

Aw nuts, Sevvy's first lousing outing...aided by some less than stellar fielding. How does that ball get by LeMahieu when he's playing 6 inches from the bag?

And why am I talking to myself?

I like the way he says "heater" when talking about the guy at bat. Kinda cute.

He's really put on a lot of weight since he was playing. Still eating like he's burning it off on the field.

I can now be reached at ManfredCanBlowMe@gmail.com. I will also now answer to my full name Mx. Manfred CanBlowMe.

Those were the days my friend.
We thought they'd never end.

This is the 21st century Yankees.
They will do something like send the winning pitcher and a guy with two hits after sitting for 6 days , back to Scranton.

Oh, they did?

WINTER IS COMING
