Riding high in April, shot down in May, but I think we're gonna change our tune, when we're back on top, back on top in Juuuuune

Five days ago, we embarked upon what looked to be our last road trip of the 2011 pennant race.

We were sinking fast, embarrassed at home, then butchering two outlandishly wretched games to the Seattle Supersonics, or whatever they call themselves in the city of "Here Comes the Brides." Mariano even lost one. (Wait a minute, the Mariners, that's what they call themselves.)  And when Mariano boots one, we are officially in distress.

Five days ago, the Redsocks looked like Disney's future Seals Team Six, with Carl Crawford lifting his average up to a respectable Lenn Sakata .240, and Lil Dustin Pedroa maintaining his reputation as baseball's premier secondbaseman. (Hahahahahahahaha.) Superprospect Jacoby Ellsbury was showing everyone why he's still the super-superprospect that he was. They rolled into first, and with Dice K soon leaving his condominum on the DL, they weren't looking back.

Then, this happened.

Folks, today, it is June, and we are all Bartolo Colon.

I don't know how long this will last.

But we better damn well appreciate it, while it's here.

June, she'll change her tune,
In reckless walks she'll prowl the night;
July, she will fly
And give no warning to her flight.
