Sink Or Swim

Sorry to bring you back from the games of the 1950s and 1960s, but we have a reality to face.

Tonight, the woeful Atlanta Braves come into Yankee stadium.

Charlie Morton is pitching .  Charlie was a Yankee killer for a decade.  But he is now older than Gardener and Kluberr combined.  Even Tampa didn't choose to give him another year, and they love the guy.

The Braves have been the dog shit of the NL East ( or wherever they are assigned ) forever.  It seems like they went to the pit of failure once Smoltz and  (that other guy) went into the broadcasting booth.

My point is;

1.  The Yankees have had a really bad home stand.

2.  The fans are throwing crap on the field, to express their displeasure.

3.  People in Tampa are encouraging their dogs to relieve themselves outside the Steinbrenner gate and     security wall.  Tacks on the driveway that extends outside the security wall will be next.

4.  If the Yankees can't beat these deadbeats, we can't beat anyone.

5.  If you read this tomorrow and the Yankees are 5-11, get ready for a grim reality.

I have lived through the worst, most exhausting and actually terrifying year of my life, and not just as a physician. And yet somehow I dread the today's game like another trip into a COVID isolation room. At least it's 6:30 start. It'll be over early.

I will cling to that: It will be over early.

Morton vs. Taillon? I don't like the matchup. And then Kluber again tomorrow? It doesn't look good for us.

At least FORD is back. We'll always have that to help carry us all through.

FORD would be more comforting if I wasn't a GM person.

Ford deserves another chance. (Hey, that could be their corporate slogan!)

Ford walked in our insurance run, in a clutch at bat ( okay four straight balls).

He made a catch I never thought he would make for the final out.

Better than Bruce.

And DJ is better than odor at second.
