Monday, at a ceremony honoring Bobby Orr, the mayor of Boston pulled a George W. Biden.
"Boston has an amazing set of remarkable athletes whose actions in the moment have become ionic (sic) in sports. (John) Havlicek stole the ball. Fisk waved the ball fair. (Doug) Flutie launched the Hail Mary pass. Varitek split the uprights."
Boston pundits say he meant "Vinatieri," as in Adam.
I think he meant "Buckner."
