Call to Arms

From commenter KD:

We're heading to the Stadium Friday and our boys always win when I attend. Odd but true. I am also expecting Jeter at short. IIHIIFIIc readers: give me some Jeter Ju-Ju for Friday. I saw the Captain go down and be carried off. I want to be there when he returns and he looks ready.

Remember that chickens you sacrifice must be live. Squawking. Ruffled feathers. Smelling like Dustin Pedroia. When chicken writhes in death throes, douse beast with urine of David Ortiz. Ask JuJu to come, take fear from Yankee bats. Offer JuJu cigar, rum. He will come. Then, David Adams knock the shit out of curveball.

I've never tried chicken that way. Sounds like you'd have to put a lot of Tabasco on it.

PS: The first of 7 we should win, we didn't.

No Tabasco. Lotsa Tarasco!

I am humbled that my wretched little post has been so honored. Our JuJu will need to be powerful indeed to bring our Captain back to this sinking clipper ship by Friday. You up-staters must be enjoying Jeter but why waste his at bats when anything he'd do would be an improvement at YSIII? Look for me on YES. I'm thinking of a "JETER NOW!!" banner, although I'm sure the FO would not allow it to be televised.

the IIHIIFIIc community of chicken killers has done it. If we are to believe reports, our Jeter Ju-Ju has brought The Captain back to DH for us today. So, when I'm nestled in my cheap seat Friday, way, way up there, sucking on my $9.75 Budweiser ($10 with my generous 25 cent tip to the beer man), I'll see Jeet back for his first play at SS in 2013. THANK YOU!!!

No offense, KD, but you stated "our boys always win when I attend".

And yet, you also stated "I saw the Captain go down and be carried off." I was at that game, too. And, despite the incredible 9th inning, they most definitely did not win.

Now, they DID win last night, so...was 2012 ALCS Game #1 the only game you've seen them lose in-person?
