Predictions

1.  At some point in the first 60 games, a team is going to get whacked by Covid-19.

2.  Giancarlo will continue to strike out at a prodigious rate, and hit meaningless home runs that the broadcasters will gape and fawn over for hours.

3.  It will take all season for the Yankees to figure out who our best first baseman is.

4.  Aaron Hicks will not hit the way we need him to, particularly from the right side.

5.  Miguel Andujar will not play enough to find himself.  He is our most potent non-starter.

6.  Sanchez will be improved as a back-stop, but remain inconsistent as a hitter. But he ( as opposed to Stanton ) will hit some meaningful homers.

7.  Judge will be an excellent right fielder and will hit all mistake pitches into the seats.  But he will remain vulnerable to any pitchers with a breaking ball that ends up low and way outside.

8.  Gleybar will develop into an excellent shortstop.  His power hitting, however, will diminish.

9.  Urshela will continue to amaze, both defensively and as a clutch hitter.

10.  DJ remains the Yankees' best player, by far.

11. Estrada is more valuable than Wade.

12.  Gardy will be  a fine left fielder, but his offense will diminish vs. last season.

As for pitching:

1.  Our ace will be an ace.

2.  Tanaka will carry the effects of that concussion for longer than we had hoped.

3.  Paxton will start slow and finish strong.

4. People will compare Montgomery to Andy Pettitte, by season's end.

5.  We have a deep and talented bullpen.

6. My vote for "upside surprise" is Loaisiaga.

As to people who won't be on the team:

1.  Garcia is no Doc Gooden. I don't see how he gets better this year, with no minor league play.

2.  The Nelson kid looked really good.  I think he can contribute now, but there is no room for him at the moment.

3.  I also like Clark Schmidt...a lot.

As for miscellaneous:

We should make the playoffs, if there are any.

If Judge or Stanton  or Sanchez hit 60 home runs in 60 games, that will be a true " Ruthian" feat.
